Since 2004 the Corner Institute has provided crisis support for migrants’ families, including the following:

• Crisis counseling in emergencies;

• help locating missing migrant relatives;

• help dealing with agencies such as hospitals, prisons and detention centers;

• referrals for local help to Mexican consulates, church and other nonprofit support services;

• help locating appropriate legal services where needed;

• help to families whose migrant relatives have died, including counseling and referral to sources of economic support for returning remains for burial;

• Free calls to the U.S., helping to keep families in touch and connected even during extended absences.
